Quinnipiac Collin Graf being eyed by Rangers

After the loss to Boston College last evening, Quinnipiac forward Collin Graf has expressed the desire to stay in the northeastern United States and that the Rangers are one of the front runners to landing his services.

It was a thrilling end between Quinnipiac and Boston College as the Eagles prevailed in overtime with the score of 5-4.

This sent the Boston program to the Frozen Four which will be held in St. Paul MN.

This now puts Graf as the number one NCAA free agent to be signed in the NHL.

Rangers general manager Chris Drury and his team have been eyeing Collin Graf as he is Quinniapiac's scoring leader, would give the Rangers depth a bigger boost adding to the ranks of Boston College Gabe Perreault and Andrew Fortescue who are going to the Frozen Four.

The 21-year-old who stands at six foot one 194 lbs can play the right wing and centre.

He is currently in his second year with Quinnipiac and played 34 games, scoring 22 goals with 27 assists for 49 points and is plus 24.

His best season was one year earlier when he played 41 games and had 59 points and was a + 31.

It's widely expected that many suitors will be calling his agent for his services including rival teams like the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Boston Bruins.

With a commodity like him, the Rangers will need to put their best foot forward in hopes to landing this promising young talent and continue to bolster their ranks as the team continues to strengthen from the bottom up.
