TheNew York Rangers will be two years out from their last Presidents' Trophy win, and will look to turn the corner in 2025-26. Thanks to the newly released schedule, the team will have an advantage when they need it the most, in Madison Square Garden, in the final stretch of the year. Could GM Chris Drury's wizard bring the team back into contention?

The New York Rangers will have a home advantage in the newly released 2025-26 regular season schedule.
In the final 10 games of the season, they'll play 7 games in Madison Square Garden, and in the final 16 to conclude the year, they'll play 11 in front of the home crowd.
Playing at home gives the team a major advantage with the Blueshirt fanbase behind their backs in Madison Square Garden.
This gives them a distinct advantage, as they play more than a month's worth (35) days on home ice. This includes February and a three-week break for the 2026 Olympics in Milan-Cortina, Italy.
include matchups against Alexander Ovechkin's Washington Capitals (Oct. 12), Connor McDavid's Stanley Cup Final runner-ups Edmonton Oilers (Oct. 14), former Ranger K'Andre Miller's Carolina Hurricanes (Nov. 4), fellow city foe the New York Islanders (Nov. 8) and Mikko Rantanen's Dallas Stars (Dec. 2).

Other notable returns to MSG will be Chris Kreider and Jacob Trouba on December 15th, when the Rangers host the upstart Ducks on home ice.
While the Hudson River Rivalry won't be re-ignited until 2026, when they host them on March 18th and Tuesday, March 31st.
However, it's also worth mentioning that this means the Rangers have a front-loaded schedule, which features 23 road games of the first 41.

The advantage for the Rangers is: they will remain home in this stretch of games without travel fatigue, and sticking to their own locker room, giving them a sense of comfort and belonging, and allowing them the last line change of the night.
Should Mike Sullivan do his job and put the team on the right course, the Rangers could look like a different beast, although in underdog form, and will have to play a scrappy form of hockey.
