Brennan Othmann enrages Islanders fans as he taunts them in the most hilarious way possible

Saturday night in Bridgeport had that minor-league edge, because the Hartford Wolf Pack and Bridgeport Islanders play like they genuinely dislike each other. Bridgeport is the New York Islanders' AHL affiliate, so Rangers fans always treat this matchup as personal.

The Wolf Pack backed it up on the scoreboard with a 4-1 road win, powered by two power-play goals and a steady night from Dylan Garand.

Late in the third, Dylan Roobroeck's power-play goal made it 4-1 and basically snapped the game in half. Right after that, Keegan Jarvis noted a massive scrum kicked off when Marshall Warren started jawing with Othmann, and the misconduct parade followed.

I can't lie, that kind of petty rivalry energy is exactly what I want from a first-round pick.

Othmann didn't score, but he helped create Hartford's third goal when his pass found Brendan Brisson in the slot for a quick power-play strike. The recap credits Othmann with the assist, and Jarvis' running notes had him on that top unit too.

Then came the moment that made Rangers social grin, Othmann «saying good night from Bridgeport,» a wink to the crowd after the win and the chaos. It wasn't a press-conference quote, it was a rivalry mic drop.

Othmann is 22 and still trying to force the Rangers' hand long term. He was the 16th overall pick in 2021, and last season he had 12 goals and 20 points in 27 AHL games.

Two years ago he put up 21 goals and 49 points in 67 games for Hartford, so the scoring baseline is real. If he keeps mixing production with this kind of bite, the next milestone is simple, make New York's next call-up decision impossible.
