K'Andre Miller plays for the New York Rangers' Metropolitan Division rivals, the Carolina Hurricanes, now. Since he began the year, he's joined a laundry list of injured players who have been out of the lineup for a significant period of time, and the list keeps growing.

Former Rangers defenseman K'Andre Miller only recently returned from injury to the Carolina Hurricanes.
He missed out on the ability to lace up the skates in Madison Square Garden again as a Hurricanes player and instead was viewing from the bench as he nursed his injury.
Now, after Miller's return from a lower-body injury, the team has an injury bug plaguing the lineup. The Hurricanes would lose another defenseman to injury.
On November 9th, defenseman Charles Legault suffered a gruesome injury, which resulted in a cut hand. He'd be rushed to the nearest Hospital in order to receive attention right away, and was diagnosed with torn tendons.
Fortunately, Legault would undergo successful surgery. But his promising start to an NHL career has ended.
Carolina officials have now claimed that Legault suffered multiple torn extensor tendons in his right hand. The defenseman has also already undergone successful surgery on the hand in Raleigh. He, however, is now expected to miss three or four months of action. As a result, the Hurricanes have placed Legault on injured reserve.

K'Andre Miller's return to the lineup is a promising development

Miller, Legault, Jalen Chatfield, and Shayne Gostisbehere are just some of the names of blueliners who have been out due to injury.
The biggest name on the list, which we've neglected to mention, is Jaccob Slavin, often considered one of the Hurricanes' best defenseman, whose impact can't be replicated at the moment, is also out.
It's a tragic start to a contending team for the 2025-26 season.
Miller has played a total of 9 games for the Hurricanes this season, and scored 8 points (2-6) in what could be a return to form this year.
The Rangers sent K'Andre Miller to the Carolina Hurricanes in a sign-and-trade during the offseason.
