New York Rangers captain J.T. Miller makes NHL history after netting the game-winning overtime goal on Thursday night against the St. Louis Blues.

The Rangers captain delivered a 2-1 overtime victory against the St. Louis Blues, scoring a goal that meant far more than two points. Miller's finish marked his 17th career overtime goal, officially passing Max Pacioretty for the most by an American player in NHL history.
It was a fitting moment for Miller, who has built his reputation on competitiveness and edge. In a tight game where offense was hard to find, he once again proved most dangerous when space opens and pressure peaks. With that being said, this also Marks Miller 3rd overtime goal of the season.
The Rangers needed it badly. Coming off multiple shutout losses and weeks of scoring frustration, Thursday night felt like a test of belief as much as execution. Miller answered it.
At 32 years old, Miller continues to thrive in high-leverage moments. His overtime production hasn't come by accident. It comes from attacking the middle, trusting instincts, and not waiting for perfect looks.

Miller's leadership has been under the spotlight all season as the Rangers search for consistency. Wearing the «C» isn't just ceremonial, and this goal reinforced why the room follows him.
The historic marker was confirmed shortly after the game, putting Miller alone atop an American leaderboard that includes some elite company.
J.T. Miller collected his 17th career overtime goal, which surpassed Max Pacioretty for the most by an American in League history.
Passing Pacioretty is no small footnote. It places Miller in a rare category of players who don't just contribute, but decide games.
The goal also capped a night where young Ranger Gabe Perreault scored his first NHL goal, making the win feel like a bridge between present leadership and future promise.
