Major turn of Events: Adam Fox named to Team USA's Olympic roster omissions list

Adam Fox makes the omission list for Team USA, following the brutal sting of the New York Rangers star being snubbed from the final Olympic roster.
Team USA's Milano Cortina 2026 group became official on Friday, and Fox was not on the eight-man defense list.
However, NHL insider Frank Seravalli quickly revealed that Fox and several other big names have headlined the omissions list.

The toughest part is Fox already knew before the public did. Fox reportedly got the call from U.S. general manager Bill Guerin on Wednesday, and by Thursday, the surprise was everywhere.
On pure production, the snub looks jarring, because Fox has 28 points in 28 games this season. That includes four goals and 24 assists, with heavy minutes every night he plays.
Guerin's public message was blunt, the U.S. built a team, not a list of individuals, and one play would never decide it. He leaned hard on chemistry from the 4 Nations Face-Off group.
That points to fit over flash, especially on the blue line, where the U.S. went bigger with Seth Jones in the mix. It is a choice aimed at defending the middle, winning net-front battles, and surviving one-game elimination.
Adam Fox omission shakes Team USA roster
It's certainly maddening because Fox is the one guy who calms the game down when it gets loud. When he's rolling, the Rangers' exits are clean, he hits the middle with speed, and stops defending for entire shifts.
Take him away from a roster, and you lose that first pass that beats a forecheck by half a second. You also lose the quiet little shoulder fake at the blue line that opens a lane to the slot.
The irony is that Team USA is chasing gold it has not won since 1980, so every decision gets magnified.
Fox cannot change the call now, but he can change the conversation.
