The New York Rangers have just made an official announcement confirming star defenseman will be sidelined for Saturday night's game against the Blue Jackets, just moments before puck drop.
Just moments before the New York Rangers game on Saturday night against the Columbus Blue Jackets, the organization confirmed that star defenseman Will Borgen will be sidelined due to an upper-body injury and will be listed as day-to-day.
#NYR just announced that Will Borgen will not play with an upper-body injury. He took warmups but apparently something didn't feel right. His consecutive games streak will end at 285.
With that being said, defensive prospect Matthew Robertson will be slotting into the lineup to replace Will Borgen.

Will Borgen's status continuously changed throughout the day
On Friday morning, Vince Z. Mercogliano revealed that New York Rangers star defenseman Will Borgen was not at the Rangers' practice, as he had sustained an upper-body injury. Leaving his status for tonight's game unknown.

However, on Saturday morning, Mike Sullivan met with the press and provided a significant update, stating that he anticipates that Will Borgen would in fact, play tonight.
Sullivan said he anticipates Will Borgen playing tonight. He's on the ice for the morning skate in Columbus.
