Mike Sullivan Issues An Emotional Statement After Securing His First Victory With The New York Rangers
New York Rangers head coach Mike Sullivan issues an emotional statement after securing his first victory with the organization on Thursday night.
On Thursday night the New York Rangers managed to turn things around and secure a 4-0 shutout victory against the Buffalo Sabres after their disastrous game on opening-night against the Pittsburgh Penguins where they took a 3-0 loss.
Something, that has resulted in Mike Sullivan to open up and issue a statement on what it means to secure his first victory as the New York Rangers head coach.
Mike Sullivan Feels Honoured To Secure His Victory With The New York Rangers
Thanks to many attributes in the Rangers game against the Sabres, they were finally able to secure their first victory of the 2025-26 season, one of biggest attributes being super star goaltender Igor Shesterkin who posted a 37-save shutout to ensure a Rangers victory.
Igor Shesterkin records his 22nd career shutout, surpassing Lorne Chabot for the eighth most in franchise history.
Shesterkin's 22 shutouts since 2020-21 are tied for the second most among NHL goaltenders.

However, following the game Mike Sullivan was faced with the press and spoke out on his first victory with the organization, here's what he said:

Certainly a nice turn around for the Blueshirt's and hopefully they continue to build off this momentum and carry it over to their next game as they will have a chance to redeem themselves against the Pittsburgh Penguins, who are currently 2-0 after beating the Rangers and Islanders.
The two teams with face off on Saturday October 11th, at 7:00PM.
