Mike Sullivan, New York Rangers offense, and mounting frustration collided again Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden.

After another shutout loss, this time a 3-0 defeat against the Vancouver Canucks, Sullivan openly acknowledged what has been building for weeks. The Rangers' inability to score is no longer just noise, it's becoming a real concern.
Through 35 games, the Rangers have scored only 88 goals. That number puts them near the bottom of the league and completely out of sync with a roster built to contend, not grind out survival hockey every night.
Tuesday's shutout marked the sixth time the Rangers have been blanked at home this season. Madison Square Garden, once a place opponents feared, has turned into a pressure cooker where goals feel rare and fragile.
Sullivan didn't pretend to have easy answers. He admitted that if a clear solution existed, it would already be in place. Instead, he emphasized process, effort, and continued attempts to solve a problem that hasn't gone away.

Mike Sullivan finally voices Rangers scoring anxiety

The Rangers are generating chances, but not enough from the middle of the ice. Too many shots come from the outside, rebounds die untouched, and opposing goaltenders settle in far too comfortably.
Sullivan's comments after the loss reflected that frustration and quickly circulated as another reminder of how deep this issue has gone.
"If I had the solution, we would certainly bring it. We're doing our best to control the process. We're trying to solve it, for sure. Is it a little bit concerning at this point? Yeah"
This isn't a short slump. It's a season-long pattern that now defines the Rangers' identity. At 16-15-4, the record looks average, but the underlying numbers suggest something shakier.
The Rangers still believe goals will come, but belief alone doesn't change results. At some point, production has to follow opportunity.
