New York Rangers 23-Year Old Forward To Take On An Increased Role Throughout The 2025-26 Season
The 2025-26 season is crucial for the New York Rangers and Will Cuylle. Mike Sullivan will take his place behind the bench as the new Head Coach. It'll be up to Cuylle to take a leap forward after his last 45-point season.
The New York Rangers have found a hidden gem with forward Will Cuylle. He'd make the jump into a middle-six role, scoring 45 points.
Only a season, after scoring 21 points (13-8) in 2023-24. This was a 24-point increase for Cuylle, and for the team, they need him to make another leap into a top-six role, given the gaps in the lineup.
For Cuylle, the opportunity is there to take with the Rangers trade of forward Chris Kreider during the postseason.
With a chance at increased responsibilities, he can transform himself into an All-Star forward in the NHL.
This offseason, the Rangers and Cuylle could have come to terms on a long-term contract extension. Instead though, they agreed to a two-year, $7.8 million bridge deal.
Will Cuylle: A Future Top-Six Forward in New York?
Last season, Cuylle found himself slotted up and down the lineup until the end of the year, where he found himself paired with JT Miller and Mika Zibanejad.
Is he bound to take a top-line responsibility if he not only replicates his production, but doubles it from last season?
The forward has beat out the likes of Brennan Othmann and Gabe Perreault for a spot in the Rangers lineup.
Can it be assumed that he will remain in the same role as he was last year, working his way up the lineup? Or will Sullivan make him work for it again?
