J.T. Miller returns for the New York Rangers vs Buffalo Sabres after injured reserve activation.

The official paperwork finally matched the vibes, J.T. Miller has been activated off injured reserve. That matters because this is not a «maybe later» update, it's tied directly to the Sabres game tonight at Madison Square Garden.
Mollie Walker also flagged that «all signs» point to the captain returning to the lineup, which is exactly how it felt after the last few skates. Another report today went a step further, saying Miller was activated and set to play against Buffalo.
Of note: J.T. Miller has been activated off injured reserve, per NHL media site. All signs point to the #NYR captain returning to the lineup tonight vs. Buffalo.
The injury itself was labelled upper body, and it's cost the Rangers a chunk of games right when their lineup needed stability. Before he went out, Miller had 10 goals and 22 points in 35 games, plus 77 shots.
On the ice, his value is simple and loud. He wins hard battles down low, he drags pucks into the slot, and he makes exits miserable with pressure that starts the second he crosses the red line.

J.T. Miller officially returns to the New York Rangers lineup against the Buffalo Sabres

Against Buffalo, his return should help the Rangers play more north, more direct, with fewer fly-by possessions. Miller is at his best when he forces rushed clears, then turns retrievals into quick looks from the middle.
The timing is huge because the Rangers have been patching holes lately, including juggling big absences elsewhere on the roster, with Igor Shesterkin placed on injured reserve earlier this week, and Adam Fox was placed on long-term injured reserve.
Now the next milestone is simple and human, get through tonight's game healthy, set the tone early, and give this team a captain's shift the moment the puck drops.
