The New York Rangers have just provided fans with an update on one veteran forward who sustained a lower-body injury earlier this week.

On Monday night, the New York Rangers revealed some unsettling news confirming veteran forward Sam Carrick would be sidelined with a lower-body injury and would have to miss their preseason game against the New York islanders.
Sam Carrick had been removed from the lineup against the Islanders, as he is day-to-day. However, according to a report from Rangers Insider Mollie Walker, it's was more of a precautionary decision.
#NYR Sam Carrick is day-to-day with a lower-body injury and won't play tonight vs. #Isles, but it's precautionary for just an exhibition game.

According to several insiders who are rink side at the New York Rangers practice on Wednesday morning/afternoon, Sam Carrick has retuned but is currently wearing a red non-contact jersey.
Still no J.T. Miller at #NYR practice today. He's still yet to skate.

Sam Carrick is back in a red jersey and Casey Fitzgerald is being held out for the purpose of hitting waivers later today.
The right-shot center doesn't appear to be in any real danger of being sidelined for an extended period of time. As he could very well draw into the New York Rangers lineup for their preseason game on Thursday against the New Jersey Devils.
Last season the 33-year old forward, managed to score 20 points (6-14) and ended the year with a +4, in 80 games played with the Rangers. Earning a role as a key player for the Rangers organization.
The depth center is in year 2 of his 3-year deal, which pays him $1 million average annual value (AAV) and was a bottom-six forward all of last season, playing on the same line as the Rempire Towers (Adam Edstrom and Matt Rempe).
