New York Rangers Issue A Special Announcement Regarding Veteran Defenseman Carson Soucy

Today the New York Rangers made an announcement celebrating one veteran defenseman, Carson Soucy as today is his birthday.

Today is Soucy's birthday, and he turns 31-years old and the New York Rangers made a special post on social media wishing him a happy birthday as the star was born on July 27th, 1994.

Back on March 6th NHL insider Elliotte Friedman confirmed the news that Carson Soucy was acquired by the New York Rangers for a third-round pick.

Along with this it was confirmed that Soucy waived his no-trade clause to join the New York Rangers.

However things probably didn't turn out the way he expected as he only managed to play in 16 games this past season with the New York Rangers, where he only tallied 1 goal and 2 assists for a total of 3 points.

Soucy was originally drafted in the fifth round (137th overall) by the Minnesota Wild back in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, and spent the first three seasons with the Wild before being moved to the Seattle Kraken where he spent two seasons before he ended up in Vancouver and then finally the New York Rangers.

It still remains unknown if Soucy will have found himself a more permeant spot in the New York Rangers roster for the 2025-26 season, but it's unlikely considering the moves Chris Drury has made regarding his defensive pairs, one being acquiring defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov from the Kings.
