The New York Rangers have just been linked to Western Conference rivals' $65 million forward in latest trade rumours, as they face ongoing struggles early in the season.

Back on November 6th, NHL insider Frank Seravalli revealed that St. Louis Blues general manager Doug Armstrong had informed the league that he was "open for business." Something that was confirmed just five days later by Jeremy Rutherford.
Along with that, Rutherford also stated that 28-year-old right winger Jordan Kyrou had been mentioned as a trade candidate, and that even a team had reached out to the Blues after they scratched him against the Buffalo Sabres on November 6th.
Unfortunately, it still remains unknown which organization reached out and if they even made an offer.

New York Rangers linked to the Jordan Kyrou as trade rumours heat up

according to reports from Lyle Richardson of Bleacher Report, the New York Rangers could certainly be one of the few teams interested in making a move for Kyrou.
"Acquiring Kyrou would enable the Rangers to move Alexis Lafrenière back to his natural position at left wing while adding an experienced scorer at right wing. However, a lack of cap space makes this move difficult to accomplish unless the Rangers move out a contract or two in the deal."

However, assuming that Kyrou is actually open to being traded, he would be an expensive acquisition, as he carries an average annual value of $8.13 million through 2030-31, and the Blues would most certainly want a high value in return.
Meaning the Rangers would most likely need to give up one of their 2026 first-round draft picks, and even a high-calibre player from their roster, as they would need to the cap space in order to acquire him.
Just this season alone, the former 35th overall draft pick of the 2016 NHL Draft, has managed to tally six goals, six assists, for a total of 12 points throughout 20 games played.
