New York Rangers Offensive Prospect Jaroslav Chmelar Expresses Feelings On Making His NHL Debut

The Detroit Red Wings will take on the New York Rangers on the Little Caesars Arena ice tonight. The Rangers will be bringing a rookie in Jaroslav Chmelar, in tow. The rookie forward, who will make his debut tonight.
The New York Rangers are 5th in the Metropolitan Division and aiming ever upwards.
With a record of 6-6-2 and without forward Adam Edstrom in the lineup, the team will need an injection of young talent. Tonight, that will be former 144th overall pick by the Rangers, Jaroslav Chmelar.
The Czech-born forward will be debuting tonight in the Rangers lineup on the RW4, where Adam Edstrom plays.
With Chmelar leaning, he'll play his first NHL game tonight against the Red Wings; he'd make an exclamatory statement centering his disbelief of the situation.
Jaroslav Chmelar Makes his NHL Debut On Friday Night
The Rangers are calling up Chmelar from the AHL's Hartford Wolfpack, where he played 87 games and scored 36 points (16-20).
Before suiting up for the Rangers' AHL affiliate, he played college hockey for the Providence Friars.
As for international play - Chmelar represented Czech at the World Junior Hockey Championships in 2022 and 2023. He helped his country capture a silver medal in 2023.
This season with the Wolfpack, he's played a total of 9 games and scored 5 points (2-3).
He signed an entry-level contract with the Rangers in March 2024 for a total value of $2.6 million. The forward was drafted 144th overall in the 5th round of the 2021 NHL Draft.
