Chris Drury's job security with the New York Rangers has just surfaced once again after recent reports of ownership mandates.

With the Rangers battling inconsistency and rumors swirling, speculation around general manager Chris Drury's job status has intensified. Some reports have suggested ownership mandates and hinted that Drury's days could be numbered.
However, NHL insider Frank Seravalli is telling a different story.
Speaking recently, Seravalli made it clear that Drury's seat is not nearly as hot as some fans believe. In fact, he described it as «not very» hot at all, pushing back hard against the idea that Drury is operating under immediate threat.
Drury, according to Seravalli, is focused on the macro picture rather than game-to-game panic. The Rangers are seeking clarity on what they truly are this season, a contender worth adding to or a group that needs a significant reset.

Chris Drury weighing the bigger picture for the New York Rangers future

The Rangers are not one tweak away from certainty. Injuries, scoring droughts, and uneven performances have made evaluation difficult. Drury's approach, at least publicly, appears to be patience rather than reaction.
Seravalli's comments also cut against the idea that ownership dictates daily decisions. While expectations remain high in New York, there's no indication that Drury is being rushed into a move purely to save his job.
1) Chris Drury's seat is "not very" hot.

2) "Zero doubt" Drury will move Panarin if they're out of the playoff picture.

3) Drury is more focused on the "macro" than the "micro".

4) They're looking for "clarity"...which way are they going?
That doesn't mean pressure isn't coming. If the Rangers fall further back, major decisions loom. Panarin's future, asset movement, and organizational direction will all be on the table.
