"NHL Player In The Making": Mike Sullivan Has Likely Just Confirmed Gabe Perreualts Fate With The Rangers
Despite what Sean Avery might say, Gabe Perreault, aka "Hot Shot," may have a future with the New York Rangers. In a postgame interview with Mike Sullivan, he discussed the player's fate with the Blueshirts.
Head Coach Mike Sullivan commented on the future of the New York Rangers prospect Gabe Perreault.
Perreault has found himself in a position to make a name for himself during training camp. He's already scored a nice goal against the New Jersey Devils, helping the team to defeat their rivals.
He'd weather criticism from Sean Avery, and "hot-shot" may not be a superstar yet, but according to Mike Sullivan, he's an NHL player in the making.
Gabe Perreault's Performance During Training Camp Is Doing Favors For Him
Today against the Boston Bruins, the team put up a good effort despite the 5-4 loss to the once Atlantic Division juggernaut.
Perreault would again find himself on the scoreboard, putting him to 2 points (2 G) in two games for the New York Rangers.
He'd leave the game with 4 shots on goal, 1 blocked shot, 22 shifts played with 17:44 time on ice against the Bruins.
Sullivan's comments show that while Perreault might be NHL-ready, rushing him into a top-six role might be a mistake, and is instead keeping him where he could play the most minutes in the lineup.
Something that matters more than anything for his development.
We just wonder how soon until he develops into the forward we all know he can be.
