The 2025 "Shoulder Check Showcase" will feature four New York Rangers fan favourites
Four New York Rangers have been announced to take part in a mental health advocacy group, the "Shoulder Check Showcase". The Showcase was put together by the parents of Hayden Thorsen, a former goalie who tragically lost his life at 16, and now Jonathan Quick, Chris Kreider, and Matt Rempe will take part in a good cause.
The Shoulder Check Showcase is a charity hockey game, and will have 4 New York Rangers in attendance this year.
The goal? To build a support community within the sport of hockey.
Shoulder Check is on a mission to turn kindness into a contact sport. To show people that 'being there' is as simple as reaching out, checking in, and making contact. Being the hand on a shoulder that lets someone know - «I'm here with you.»
The Shoulder Check Showcase will feature players such as Matt Rempe, Jonathan Quick, Kevin Shattenkirk, and Brett Berard this year.
While former Ranger, now Anaheim Duck, Chris Kreider will participate in the event on "Team Prentiss" the opponents to "Team Quick".
The event will take place on Terry Conners Rink in Stamford, Connecticut.
501c3 Non Profit Information
The Shoulder Check Showcase is an approved 501c3 non-profit and approved organization started by the parents of Hayden Thorsen, Sara Thompson, and Rob Thorsen.
The Shoulder Check Showcase is when "hockey's biggest stars came together with our local community for a night of reaching out, checking in and making contact at the Shoulder Check Showcase."
Last year, Kreider and Rempe participated in the event, and Kreider won't miss it even if he now lives on the West Coast.
Puck Drop is at 6 PM in Terry Conners Rink in Stamford, Connecticut on July 24th, 2025.
