According to recent reports, the New York Rangers were one of several teams that had scouts at the Boston Bruins vs St. Louis Blues game on Thursday night and giving their injuries mounting, general manager Chris Drury appears to be widening his search for reinforcements.

The club has leaned heavily on internal depth for weeks, but Thursday's presence in Boston hints that outside help remains very much an option, and yes, usually scouts at a game mean nothing, but most recently, the Blues stated that they are open for business.

However, with that being said, both the Blues and the Bruins present intriguing possibilities. St. Louis has several middle-six forwards and right-shot defenders who could fit the Rangers' needs, while Boston's depth players have long been admired around the league for their competitiveness and reliability.

This type of scouting activity never feels like a coincidence. The Rangers do not have to rush into a move, but the pressure to stay afloat while Fox heals grows each game. A well-timed addition could help stabilize roles and prevent overtaxing players like Schneider, who is already playing above his typical workload.

Obviously, nothing is imminent, and given the Rangers' cap space, they're not likely to rush into something, as they only have about $2.5 million available due to Fox being placed on LTIR.
