Unsettling rumors begin to swirl as speculation regarding the long-term health status of defenseman Will Borgen begins. The team recalled defenseman Scott Morrow from the Hartford Wolfpack, suspecting the worst for the veteran defenseman.

The New York Rangers have caused the rumor mill to churn quickly, as defenseman Will Borgen is still out of the lineup.
With his absence being longer than expected, the New York Rangers have recalled Scott Morrow from the AHL, and with no official timeline to return for Borgen, this could be a long look for the rookie.
Borgen had played 19 games and scored 3 points (1-2) for the Rangers this year before suffering an upper-body injury, which has kept him out of the lineup longer than expected.
The time frame of games he's missed has led fans to suspect there's more going on than what's being said:
In a corresponding move, the team has sent Connor Mackey back to the AHL, with Morrow getting another look in the league this season.
Morrow has played 3 games of hockey in the NHL this season, and after the last time left with a -2.
With hopes he can capitalize on his opportunity, as Connor Mackey has failed to provide the support on the blueline that the Rangers need.
The former 2nd-round pick could be the one to help the Blueshirts pull themselves out of an ongoing slump with Will Borgen out of the lineup.
Morrow's average time on ice this season with the Rangers has been 13:11.
