Veteran forward Vincent Trocheck continues to call out New York Rangers as they struggle with back-to-back games this season.

After a 2-1 loss to the Nashville Predators, the Rangers dropped to 0-6-1 in the second half of back-to-back games this season. The pattern is no longer subtle, and Trocheck made sure it wasn't brushed aside.
Trocheck did not point to fatigue or scheduling. Instead, he focused on effort, preparation, and professionalism. His message was blunt and unmistakable. The Rangers, in his words, simply did not play hard enough.
"They just played harder than us. We've got to be able to be professional, prepared for the game and we have to be better. We have to try harder. We have to have more pride in ourselves."
That honesty stings because it echoes what fans are seeing. The Rangers often start these second games flat, losing puck battles, arriving late to loose pucks, and struggling to generate urgency when games tighten.
Against Nashville, the Rangers managed just one goal and rarely looked dangerous at five on five. The Predators dictated pace, won the middle of the ice, and looked like the more engaged team for long stretches.

Vincent Trocheck challenges Rangers effort and identity

Trocheck's words suggest a deeper issue than tired legs. Being 0-6-1 in these situations points to mindset, preparation, and accountability. Good teams find ways to grind out points when energy is low. The Rangers have not.
What made him think they lacked pride?

"It just looked f---ing dead."
Trocheck has emerged as one of the team's most vocal leaders during this stretch. At 32 years old, he understands that patterns like this can sink a season if they aren't addressed head on.
The Rangers still have time to correct it, but time is shrinking. Back-to-backs are unavoidable. Effort should not be optional.
