Heartbreaking news leaves the hockey community mourning the tragic loss of a young talented player who sadly passed away at the very young age of just 20-years old.
Reports have confirmed the devastating news that 20-year old Christophe Babin has passed away far too soon.
A very heartfelt message was shared to Facebook, that gives us some insight on just how wonderful the young man was:
It is with great sadness that we learned of the death of Christophe Babin, a former player of our organization. Christophe proudly wore the colors of the Pionniers for several seasons, leaving behind him the memory of a committed teammate, a respectful young man and a true hockey enthusiast.
He made a mark on our organization not only for his on-ice talent, but more importantly for his unifying personality, infectious smile and exemplary team spirit.
We offer our deepest condolences to his family, his loved ones, and all those who were fortunate enough to be by his side. His visit with us will have left an indelible imprint. The whole large family of the Pionniers de Lanaudière is mourning today.
Rest in peace, Christopher. You will forever remain in our memory.
