New York Rangers star goaltender was spotted in a very heated altercation with the NHL officials during Sunday night's game against the Detroit Red Wings, and he has just explained why.

Things got a little heated between the New York Rangers and Detroit Red Wings on Sunday night, and the one player who was in the mix of it throughout the entire night was star goaltender Jonathan Quick.
Something that started during the second period of the game on Sunday night, as Quick was spotted screaming at the NHL officials after the Red Wings had gotten their first goal of the game while being on the power play.
"Quick was livid after the first goal against. I don't know if it was shown on TV, but he kept his mask up after the play started and was shouting at the ref. Then again, during the next TV time-out. We could see him bubbling up all night.
Here's a look at the Red Wings' first goal of the game:
The only thing that isn't shown in this clip is Quick yelling at the NHL officials after the goal, as he believed the play should have been blown dead after he was tripped in his crease while the team tried to kill off the penalty.
I asked Quick about this, too.

"It was confusion. You're getting tripped in your crease. That's supposed to be a whistle right away. It's tough enough killing a penalty as is. When you've got guys in the crease tripping you, it makes it more difficult.»
Certainly a tough night for the veteran goaltender, who made 40 saves on 42 shots and posted a .952 save percentage, as his team, the Rangers, managed to score only one goal on 19 shots.
So for him to have the reaction that he did at the end of the game, which resulted in both benches clearing and participating in a heated altercation, after Red Wings forward Mason Appleton shot the puck into the net once the game was over, is a fair one.
