New York Rangers defenseman Scott Morrow feels as if he's NHL-ready. The blueliner was acquired in trade during the summer from the Carolina Hurricanes and has gotten his first taste of NHL action this year.

Blueliner Scott Morrow was recalled from the AHL's Hartford Wolfpack after reports of an upper-body injury that hit Will Borgen.
Borgen's absence would necessitate a reassigned from the AHL for Morrow, who has played one game of NHL hockey this year. While he wouldn't produce a point at all so far.
Though he's played 17 games of NHL hockey during his career, the majority of with the Carolina Hurricanes, his scoring has been limited to 6 points (1-5) in that time frame.
«I'm feeling confident. Obviously, I haven't gone any bounces in terms of points, but I think I've been playing a really solid game. I think the bounces will come over the course of the season, wherever I am, so just staying with it. I feel a lot more ready for the NHL than I have, you know, at any point last year.»

But his confidence was glowing while being interviewed by Mollie Walker of the New York Post:

Scott Morrow: An NHL-ready defenseman for the New York Rangers?

Morrow has already impressed assistant coach David Quinn with his efforts during his 1st NHL game this season.
«I liked his game. I thought Scotty did a good job,» Quinn said. «I thought he kept it simple. He moves the puck well, gets us out of our end when we needed to get out of our end when the chances presented themselves. I thought he defended well.»

With Will Borgen being a game-time decision tonight , it's difficult to tell whether or not Morrow, a former 2nd-round pick of the Hurricanes, will get another look in the NHL tonight against the Vegas Golden Knights.
But there will be a chance, as long as the team needs bodies on the ice, and for Morrow, he has to prove he's capable of being a responsible defenseman for the Blueshirts.
