New York Rangers head coach Mike Sullivan provides an unanticipated reason behind healthy-scratching forward just moments before their game against the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday night.

Just moments before the New York Rangers game on Tuesday night, when they faced off against the Golden Knights, Mike Sullivan decided to make a few last-minute changes to his roster, as he healthy scratched forward Adam Edstrom and had Juuso Parssinen slot in.
Will Borgen is officially IN #NYR lineup. Juuso Pärssinen also set to play for first time since Nov. 8, replacing Adam Edström on the fourth line.
Unfortunately, things haven't been going in the right direction with all these changes Mike Sullivan has been making as the Rangers took a 2-1 loss against the Golden Knights, extending their losing streak to two games after being on a heater with a three-game winning streak, before all the changes.

Mike Sullivan explains why Adam Edstrom was healthy scratched

However, following another deflating loss, head coach Mike Sullivan spoke to the media and revealed his reasoning behind healthy-scratching Adam Edstrom just moments before their game on Tuesday night.
Here's what he had to say:
head coach Mike Sullivan on playing Juuso Pärssinen over Adam Edström:

"It was a little bit performance based. Part of it was, you know, we've got Pars here that's working hard. We wanted to get a different look from the fourth line."
I mean, Sullivan isn't necessarily wrong about Edstrom's performance being an issue, as the 25-year-old forward has only tallied two assists in the last 18 games played while tallying only 14 shots on net during those games.
On the other hand, Parssinen has managed to tally 2 goals and 1 assist through 13 games played, along with posting 12 shots on net.
Overall, i believe it's time for Sullivan to rethink his decision and maybe bring Gabe Perreault back to the lineup and put the lines back to how they were when the team was actually finding success.
