Just moments ago, the New York Rangers announced a two-player roster transaction, following a major announcement regarding the player they placed on waivers on Tuesday.
On Tuesday afternoon, the New York Rangers made the shocking announcement that they have placed 24-year-old forward Juuso Parssinen on waivers. Now that it has been over 24-hours, NHL insider Eliotte Friedman confirmed that he had cleared.
Which means Juuso Parssinen will now report to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League. However, in the process of him reporting to the Wolf Pack, the Rangers decided to recall 29-year-old defenseman Connor Mackey.
UPDATE: Juuso Parssinen has been assigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack and Connor Mackey has been recalled from the Hartford Wolf Pack.
Just this season alone, with the Hartford Wolf Pack, the 29-year-old defenseman has managed to record three assists in 15 games, and over the course of three seasons, the native of Tower Lakes, IL, has played a total of 125 games with the Wolf Pack. Scoring a total of 38 points (8 g, 30 a) in that span of time.
With that being said, it appears that Mackey will just serve as a seventh defenseman and likely won't make his 2025-26 season debut, as the New York Rangers will be facing off against the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday night, and seem to have their lines set.
