According to latest reports, it appears former New York Rangers goaltender Louis Domingue has officially returned to North America after just recently signing a deal overseas in the KHL.

Back on Monday, the Florida Panthers, American Hockey League affiliate team, the Charlotte Checkers announced that they have signed 33-year-old Louis Domingue for the remainder of the 2025-26 season. After he had just recently signed in Russia with Sibir Novosibirsk.
The Checkers have signed goaltender Louis Domingue to a one-year, one-way contract
Unfortunately, Domingue's time in the KHL was cut short as Sibir Novosibirsk released him from his deal at the beginning of the month, after he had made 11 appearances and managed to tally a poor 3.83 GAA and .892 SV%, going 0-9-2 with one shutout.
However, it was revealed that Domingue was released as his request for «family reasons,» but clearly it was for other reasons.

Louis Domingue bounced throughout the NHL

Louis Domingue has spent time with seven different NHL teams and seven AHL affiliate organizations over his 12-year professional career.
After he was originally drafted in the fifth round (138th overall) by the Phoenix Coyotes, Domingue has suited up for 144 NHL games with Phoenix/Arizona, Tampa Bay, New Jersey, Vancouver, Calgary, Pittsburgh and the New York Rangers.
However, during the 2024/25 season, Domingue signed with the Rangers, where he endured his third year with the organization. He managed to play in 28 games within the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack and had somewhat of a down season, where he recorded a 3.32 GAA with a .896 SV%.
