The New York Rangers' first overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, Alexis Lafrenière, has undoubtedly struggled to live up to the expectations he was given since making his way into the National Hockey League.

Yet, that might not be his fault.

As many can argue that his underwhelming gameplay is due to the current state of the New York Rangers organization.

The team has evidently struggled to hold their own through their recent campaigns.

Just last season, the Rangers were absent from postseason contention, and Lafrenière was evidently in desperate for a line-mate that could push him to new dimensions.

As new insight has unravelled, revealing that the New York Rangers may have just found an ideal linemate for the organization's former first overall pick, Alexis Lafrenière .

This solution is Anaheim Ducks forward, Mason McTavish.

The 22-year old possesses good size, 6-foot-1, 219 pounds, and plays with the grit the Rangers are in desperate need of.

McTavish is also developing nicely as an offensive driver, and has the perfect amount of skill Lafrenière needs in a linemate.

However, McTavish won't be cheap, as the Ducks would likely command a first-round pick, if not two, and a highly skilled prospect.
