Longtime radio host for Original Six franchise sadly passes away at 64-years old
The hockey world is mourning, as a longtime radio host for an Original Six franchise has passed away at 64-years old.
Longtime radio host for the Blackhawks and Chicago sports community, Harry Teinowitz, passed away at the age of 64-years old.
Multiple sources have confirmed this tragedy, and the entire Chicago sports community is mourning.
Teinowtiz was previously the host of «Mac, Jurko & Harry» shown on ESPN 1000, also known as «The Afternoon Saloon» for a very long time.
Alongside him was Dan McNeil, and John Jurkovic, who were also on the show from 2001 until 2009.
Once he left the show, DeFalco and Jurkovic hosted it from 2009 until 2013.
And Teinowtiz later hosted WGN radio's sports station, however, his time there was short.
Many of his former friends and co-workers made heartfelt statements regarding Harry Teinowitz' passing
McNeil, his former co-worker, spoke upon his passing:
«He was a man of the people. He loved life in Chicago, and he loved sports fans. We should do a toast to Harry Teinowitz one day every year for people who celebrate what's good in our city. That's his legacy.»
Former co-host, Jurkovic, also made a statement on his passing:
«Harry was an absolute necessity. You had to have him to make that thing work. Without him, it wouldn't not have worked to the level that worked.»
Carmen Falco, another co-host, also made a statement:
«He just had a million ideas and he always wanted to be funny. He was always thinking of silly, creative, goofy things to do and he believed in all of them. He always committed to the bit. If it flopped, he didn't care. He just wanted to try.»
