Chris Kreider reveals the exact moment he found out he was no longer a New York Rangers'

The New York Rangers' fan-base was caught by surprised during the 2025 NHL Draft, as the organization departed with longterm veteran, 34-year old Chris Kreider.

Kreider was traded to the Anaheim Ducks by the New York Rangers on June 12, 2025 in a trade which saw the Rangers acquire Carey Terrance and a 3rd-round pick in 2025.

And new insight has just revealed the exact moment Chris Kreider knew his time in New York was coming to an end, and it's shocking.

A recent post was made on social media, via «X', revealing how Kreider came to terms with the fact he was no longer a Ranger anymore.

"One thing that Kreider said helped him realize he isn't a #NYR anymore was when the Ducks shipped him a set of new equipment. The colors are black, gold and orange - not blue. He found a place to live in Southern California, though he hasn't seen it in person yet."

Although this aspect is heart-breaking for New York Rangers fans and Kreider himself to come to terms with, fans are also hopeful this gives the organization the opportunity to shift to a new era.
