New York Rangers head coach Mike Sullivan sparked some major controversy among fans regarding a young forward during his 2025-26 season debut on Monday night's game against the St. Louis Blues.
On Sunday night, the New York Rangers decided to recall 23-year-old forward Brett Berard from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League due to the fact that captain J.T. Miller is sidelined with an upper-body injury and will be considered day-to-day.

Throughout the first two periods of the game, Berard only managed to see 5:48 minutes of ice time, with only 2:33 minutes coming from the second period, and fans didn't hesitate to call out Mike Sullivan.
