The New York Rangers' lethargic effort against the Utah Mammoth led to Mike Sullivan calling out the Blueshirts. The team that's missing J.T. Miller. The team itself is missing the resilience found in other teams that have a next-man-up mentality.

Mike Sullivan has endured a lot lately.
The New York Rangers have gone 0-3-0 in their last three games, losing to the Utah Mammoth in the Delta Center last night, 3-2.
The Blueshirts' head coach would call out his team for a lethargic performance against the Mammoth on their home turf last night.
JT Miller was absent, and the team had to use some duct tape and bandages to fill the lineup, pushing Jonny Brodzinski into a top-six role.
Yet the team had a difficult time generating offense against the NHL's latest expansion team.
«It's going to provide opportunities for others to step up and make an impact,» Sullivan said of the fallout from Miller's injury. «Every team goes through it, we're not the only ones. We've got to find a way to bring more of a collective effort.»

The struggles have been apparent, as in the last three games, the team has been outshot while failing to shoot more than 20+ times on net during the road trip.

The New York Rangers are reverting back to their 2024-25 selves

According to forward Mike Zibanejad, the team feels disjointed once again. This should give us some pause, for the team fails to mount solid pressure against their opponents.
«I feel like we're disconnected. I think we're too far away from each other,» Zibanejad said. «It's a lot of one-and-dones in the O-zone, try to get on the forecheck, it's one guy, one guy, one guy. We don't come up with five together and I just feel like we're a bit late everywhere.»

You can't help but wonder if it's the team itself who have failed to gel as a legitimate unit, and Mike Sullivan and Igor Shesterkin hold it all together at this moment in time.
What will be the wake-up call for the Rangers this season as Sullivan endures, but his team falters?
