A blockbuster trade proposal has surfaced between the New York Rangers and Buffalo Sabres. A move like this is assured to breathe new life into the lineup, and possibly change the fate of the Blueshirts.
Trade proposals are fun to think about and contemplate the long-term implications of said trade.
The New York Rangers and Buffalo Sabres combine for a blockbuster trade
The proposal was posted by Big Head Hockey, and the deal would see the Rangers send a generous sum of talent to the Sabres:
The Rangers could bolster the lineup with another 30-goal scorer in Alex Tuch, who finished the 2024-25 season with the Sabres, scoring 67 points (36-31) with the Atlantic Division team.
Joining him in the deal would be Owen Power, a former Wolverine defenseman who was selected 1st overall in 2021, and scored 40 points (7-33) in 79 games for the Sabres last season. He could join Adam Fox on the top line and could become a great duo in New York, while GM Chris Drury helps relieve the Sabres of their surplus blueliners.
Though the only issue that could arise here is the fact that Alex Tuch, who's on an expiring contract, doesn't re-sign with the Rangers before the season ends.
The Rangers could look more top-heavy as a result, but he could breathe new life into the offensive core, which needs help with JT Miller suffering from an injury.
